👓 Free Vision Screening Clinic on our Watauga Campus!

Mark your calendar for Sataurday, September 20 | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at CCC&TI’s Watauga Campus!

Children will be screened by a certified Lions Club member using a PlusOptix camera which will identify a Pass or Refer condition. Children identified as Referred will be directed to the Boone Lions Club assistance table to schedule a full vision exam the following day in the IFB Vision unit. Children will receive a full exam by a licensed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist and receive a prescription. Attending Boone Lions club members will order a pair of glasses per the prescription, which will be delivered back to the Watauga campus of Caldwell Community College for pickup.

Limited appointments will be available, and those beyond available appointments will be scheduled with a local Optometrist office over the following weeks, in which the exam and glasses will be provided at no charge.

Adults will be screened using multi-stage triage checks with an assessment given at the end of the screening process. Adults assessed to need a complete vision exam will be directed to the Boone Lions Club assistance table to arrange for a full examination and prescription with a local Optometrist, in which the exam and possible glasses will be furnished at no charge by the Lions Club. Adults identified with other health issues will be referred to local health clinics for assistance.

There will be a limited number of examinations available due to time constraints. We urge you to preregister using the above QR code to ensure your availability to receive an examination and glasses if needed!
